Walvis Bay, Namibia

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients during the examination.
  • Perform obstetric, gynaecology, abdominal, small parts, vascular & musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations independently.
  • Analyze and synthesize sonographic information in diagnostic ultrasound report.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment, supplies and work area

Minimum Requirements and Competencies

  • Namibian citizenship or eligible to work in Namibia.
  • Baccalaureus Technologiae Degree: Radiography Ultrasound.
  • Registered as Sonographer at the Health Professions Council of Namibia.
  • 5 years working experience as a Sonographer.
  • Cognitive sonography skills to identify record and adapt procedures to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal working hours.

Registered Nurses

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of superior patient-nursing care.
  • Identify, prevent and report medico-legal risks and adverse events within the unit.
  • Ensure a therapeutic and safe environment by maintaining health and safety standards within the delegated unit.
  • Provide holistic learner support to learners/subordinates and new employees.
  • Supervise assigned nursing and support team.
  • Address continuous professional development (CPD) needs.

Minimum Requirements and Competencies

  • Registered Nurse Qualification.
  • 1-2 years of working experience within the Namibian health care industry.
  • Registered with the HPCNA and Nursing Board of Namibia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Namibian Citizenship or eligible to work in Namibia.
  • Disposition towards quality and excellent patient care.
  • High energy levels and tolerance for stress.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to perform within a team, organize effectively and operate optimally under pressure.
  • Availability and willingness to work overtime in the event of any emergency and/or in accordance with the Hospital's operational requirements.
