Dr. Privilage Duduzelani Makanda-Charambira is a Specialist Paediatrician and Paediatric Nephrologist at Welwitschia Hospital in Namibia, with a dedicated focus on improving kidney care for children across Africa. Based in Zimbabwe, Dr. Makanda-Charambira pursued a nephrology observership program in India, which ignited her passion for paediatric nephrology. She then advanced her training through a fellowship program in paediatric nephrology at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, with hands-on experience at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Makanda-Charambira is committed to ensuring that children with kidney disease in low-income settings receive the best possible care. Her research is driven by this goal, seeking innovative solutions to the challenges faced in these environments. Additionally, she actively participates in basic paediatric nephrology training programs and aspires to expand paediatric nephrology services in Namibia.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Makanda-Charambira enjoys gardening and cherishing time with her family.
